Introduction to Firearm Examination

Firearms examination refers to the comprehensive analysis of firearms, ammunition, and related evidence such as gunshot residues, to determine their involvement in criminal activities.

This process involves identifying unique marks on bullets and cartridge cases, examining the mechanical function of firearms, and analyzing ballistic trajectories.

The goal is to match bullets and casings to specific firearms, reconstruct shooting incidents, and provide crucial evidence in criminal investigations and legal proceedings.
