INTRODUCTION :
Historically, There Have Been So Many Types Of Painful/Cruel Punishment Inflicted On Sinners. These Are, Penalty Is A Type Of Punishment, A Fine, A Reward Given In Response To A Crime, A Crime Or A Violation, Or The Commission Of A Crime. The Purpose Of Punishment Is To Make The Offender Aware Of The Consequences And To Discourage The Offender And Others From Committing Crimes In The Future.
What Is Capital Punishment ?
Capital Punishment, It Is Also Known As Death Penalty Or Called As Judicial Homicide.It Is Kind Of State Or Constitution-sanctioned Practice Of Killing An Offender As A Punishment For Doing A Particular Crime.The Sentence Ordering That An Offender Should Be Punished In This Death Penalty Manner Is Known As A Death Sentence. A Prisoner Who Has Been Sentenced To Death And Awaits For His/Her Execution Is Commonly Known As "On Death Row".
HISTORY OF PUNISHMENT :
The Evolution Of Societal Norms, Legal Systems, And Cultural Values Can Be Seen In The History Of Punishment.
Punishment in Ancient Times :
The Code Of Ur-nammu(Law Code For Surviving Today), Included Punishments For Different Offenses, Basically/Mostly Of Fines. The Later Code Of Hammurabi Established Retributive Justice Of The "An Eye For An Eye" Variety. Disciplines Were Brutal And Included Mutilation, Constrained Work, And Passing. They Were Much Of The Time Did Openly To Dissuade Wrongdoing.Punishment Varied From City To State. Sparta Used More Severe Punishments Like Flogging And Execution, Whereas Athens Emphasized Fines And Expulsion.
Middle age Period :
Punishments that were frequently severe included branding, mutilation, and execution. As a deterrent, public executions were common. Additionally, a trial by ordeal was used to establish guilt.Sharia law emphasized retribution and deterrence when it imposed punishments like flogging (kind of punishment where the people will be hitted repeatedly with whip or a stick as punishment),amputation (removal of body part like finger,toe,foot,arm,peeling of skin)and execution.The Catholic Church forced punishments for strict offenses, which included banishment and retribution.
The Early Modern Age :
. The "Age Of Enlightenment," Which Lasted From The 16th Century To The 18th, Saw A Rise In Opposition To Harsh Punishments. Thinkers Like Cesare Beccaria Contended For More Sympathetic Treatment And Objective Legitimate Cycles. Developed Its Own System, Including Corporal Punishment And Public Shaming (Stocks And Pillories) In Addition To Adopting Many European Practices.
19th Century :
1. Movements : In The 19th Century, Primarily In Europe And The United States, Significant Reforms Were Made To The Penal Systems. Detainment Turned Into The Standard Type Of Discipline, With An Emphasis On Restoration.
2. Nullification Of Public Executions : Numerous Nations Moved Executions Out Of The Public Eye And Started To Restrict The Utilization Of The Death Penalty.
20th Century :
1. Further Reforms : The 20th Century Saw The Development Of Alternatives To Incarceration Like Probation And Community Service, A Greater Emphasis On Rehabilitation, And The Abolition Of The Death Penalty In Many Nations.
2. Human Rights: The Universal Declaration Of Human Rights And Other International Agreements Led To The Condemnation Of Inhumane Treatment And Torture.
3. Restorative Justice : Reconciliation Between The Offender And The Victim Is A Recent Trend That Places An Emphasis On Repairing The Harm Caused By Crime. From The Beginning Of Time, The Idea And Execution Of Discipline Have Advanced Essentially, Reflecting Changes In Cultural Qualities, Legitimate Ways Of Thinking, And Understandings Of Basic Freedoms.

CONCLUSION :
Punishments Is A Kind Consequence Which Reduces / Decrease Undesirable Behavior Of The Offender. Punishment Can Modify The Behavior. The Crime Rate Will Get Decrease According How Strong The Punishment Is. Punishment Also Set An Example For Others To Refrain / Not To Do Or Repeat The Offense / Crime Again. Necessary Of Punishment Is To Keep The Society Discipline And Not To Violate The Rules And Regulations. Hence Punishment Makes An Important Role In Reducing Crime Rate.
